Air Traffic Control Visit Canberra Airport
Monday 7 July 2014
What a great privilege it was to visit the Air Traffic Control Tower and Airport Fire Station on the first day of the school holidays! Thanks to Air Services Australia, we took our Cubs and Joeys into the tower, and watched the Air Traffic Controllers in action. With the binoculars the kids could even see some of the pilots and co-pilots, we felt so close. The experience was amazing, then just when we thought we had finished, we were welcomed by the fire fighters at the Airport Fire Station. The tyres on the trucks were taller than our Cubs and it was great to get a tour of the trucks and learn about a day in the life of these firemen. It was a once in a lifetime experience for us and we walked away completely amazed and elated.
