Jonathon's Farewell 30/6/2008

Jonathon's Farewell
After 4 years as a dedicated and much respected Cub Leader Jonathon Mandl is stepping down. Here is an extract from Jonathon's farewell email
"Thanks from the heart for all messages of farewell from official ‘Akela’ Cub Scout leader duties with the Mirrabooka Cub Scout Pack at Air Scouts Canberra.
It’s been a pleasure and great enjoyment to have worked with and for the benefit of our younger generation experiencing the worldwide Scouting movement – which after all is a Youth Movement – developing our future Community Leaders - spiritual + physical + intellectual. We’ve shared a lot of history together and I trust Cubs have enjoyed many highlights.
I know Eric and Max have enjoyed the company of their fellow Cubs and Scouts, and as a family we have gotten more out of the Scouting experience than we have put in over 4 years – as odd as that may sound (but true!)
I look forward to introducing our temporary Term 3 Akela, Fiona McKinnon, ACT Cub Scout Commissioner to you next Term, at first meeting back on Monday July 21 – 6pm.
The search for new Leaders in our Cub Section continues in absolute urgency, we must find 2-3 volunteers - and there will need to be a weekly Parent-help roster to run the activities in each meeting. I know everyone will rally to the cause for our Cubs sake."
